    The Daniel Defense 12.0 Free Float Rail System was the first handguard designed and bulit by Daniel Defense and it is a tremendous upgrade for users who require a light and rugged rifle with long range capability.

    The Daniel Defense 12.0 Free Float Rail System was the first handguard designed and bulit by Daniel Defense and it is a tremendous upgrade for users who require a light and rugged rifle with long range capability.  This rail is machined from the highest quality aircraft grade hardened aluminum yet it only weighs 13 ounces (including the threaded ring, barrel nut, and indexing pins)! The high strength and low weight of this remarkable handguard contributed greatly to its adoption by the United States Army for the Squad Designated Marksman Rifle program.  The Daniel Defense 12.0 rail system helped deploying Army units issue a squad level precision rilfe that bridges the gap between infantry rifleman and a battalion level sniper asset.  The 12.0 handguard was designed to work with the AR15 riflelength gas system. It will also work with the carbine or the midlength gas system with a milled gas block that will fit under the handguard.  Rails are 1913 Mil-Spec and are 100% checked for conformity. Every rail comes with either ladders or panels which are made from santoprene, which can handle heat up to 350 degrees.

    The Omega Rail 12.0™ is designed to work with rifle length AR15 gas systems. It is not to be used in conjunction with a low profile gas block or shorter length gas systems.  All Daniel Defense Rail Systems are built to the 1913 Military Specification and are 100% Quality Assurance checked for conformity to the specification.  The Omega Rail™ comes standard with three black ladders to proctect the 1913 rails as well as the shooters hand. The Ladders are contructed from santoprene, which can handle heat up to 350 degrees.

It is a free float rail system that allows the individual operator to easily install it with the provided Allen Key and requires ZERO modification to the weapon! The Piston Omega Rail™ features an integral QD sling swivel mount with rotation limiter, an uninterrupted upper rail platform, and a removable top cover for access to the piston components. The Piston Omega Rail is available with two different sized top covers to accomodate different sized piston components. The Mil Spec Model is compatible with ARES and LWRC piston systems and the Large Diameter is compatible with the Bushmaster and CMMG Piston Systems.
